LHS PARENTS — IMPORTANT CHANGE FOR AFTERNOON PICKUP!

NORTH PARKING LOT: Morning drop-off will continue as usual. However, students will NO LONGER be picked up in the North Parking Lot after school.

ALL students who are picked up after school from the North Parking Lot will now need to be picked up in FRONT OF LHS or in FRONT OF THE EAST CAMPUS.

Please remember that traffic flows through the South Parking Lot and in front of LHS is ONE WAY. We ask everyone to follow the designated traffic pattern and use extra caution as students are leaving campus.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we make this adjustment. Our goal is to keep dismissal as safe and efficient as possible for everyone.

Liberal High School is excited to officially welcome Coach Kellen “KJ” Jackson and Cynthia Bell to the Liberal High School Athletics and Activities Department!

Coach KJ joins us as our new Assistant Director of Athletics and Activities, bringing 15 years of leadership, coaching, and administrative experience. Originally from Kansas City, Missouri, KJ owned and operated a successful grassroots competitive basketball program focused on teaching players of all ages and stages how to win in basketball and in life. He has also served as both an assistant and head basketball coach at the middle school and high school levels.

KJ, his wife Alexandra, and their 3 children, Andre, Marcelina, and Carmelo   are excited to become part of the Liberal community. He looks forward to using his experience to serve our students, coaches, programs, and the entire Redskin Family.

Cynthia Bell, formerly Cisneros, joins us as our new Administrative Assistant for Athletics and Activities. Cynthia is an LHS graduate, former Redskin athlete, collegiate athlete, and has spent the past eight years coaching volleyball.

She is excited to return to the district and transition into the administrative side of athletics, where she will support our coaches, students, staff, and families while helping keep everything behind the scenes running smoothly. Outside of work, Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family, keeping up with her two boys, ages 1 and 7, and getting back on the volleyball court whenever she can!

"We are incredibly excited about the leadership, experience, energy, and heart for service that KJ and Cynthia bring to our department," said Chad Friess, LHS Director of Athletics and Activites.

What to Bring: Approved form of CURRENT address verification from May or June 2026. Required forms of address verification include: Utility bill, bank statement, or state issued ID. Verification must include the physical address and the parent/guardian’s name who is enrolling the student(s).

Total Fees are as follows for the 2026-2027 school year:

9-12th grade (High School) - $145

On Saturday, May 9th, Liberal High School will recognize the LHS Class of 2026 with a commencement ceremony at Redskin Field. The ceremony honoring the 2026 graduating class will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the gates opening at 8:30 a.m. to the public.

Public parking will be available on the East and West side of Redskin Field, the Annex Parking Lot, and East Campus Parking Lots. Public seating will be available in both the home and visitor grandstands. Handicap parking is available outside the Southeast Gate of Redskin Field, and Handicapped seating will be available on the track in the SE corner of Redskin Field.

All patrons should enter and exit through the north driveways on 7th Street. Liberal Police Department will be on hand to help with the flow of traffic. Please obey all barricades and red curbs. Do not park in any driveway or outside of marked parking spaces.

The ceremony will be streamed live on the LHS YouTube channel for those who are unable to attend, a link will be distributed on the USD 480 and LHS webpages and social media.

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors to the Liberal High School Big Gym which may be accessed via Door 15 of the main campus. Because seating in the gym is limited, each graduate will be given a limited number of tickets after graduation practice on Friday that must be used at the entrance into the big gym. Only patrons with a ticket will be allowed into the gym.

A decision regarding any changes to location or times will be made by 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and will be communicated to parents and community via the school messaging system as well as local and social media outlets.

If there is a delay, the ceremony will begin no later than 3:00 p.m. All efforts within our control will be made to conduct the ceremony outside, at Redskin Field.

El sábado 9 de mayo, Liberal High School reconocerá la Clase LHS de 2026 con una ceremonia de graduación en Redskin Field. La ceremonia en honor a los graduados de 2026 comenzará a las 9:30 a.m. y las puertas se abrirán al público a las 8:30 a.m.

El estacionamiento público estará disponible en el lado este y oeste de Redskin Field, el estacionamiento del anexo y los estacionamientos del campus este. Los asientos públicos estarán disponibles tanto en las gradas local como en la de visitantes. El estacionamiento para discapacitados está disponible fuera de la puerta sureste de Redskin Field, y los asientos para discapacitados estarán disponibles en la pista en la esquina SE de Redskin Field.

El público debe entrar y salir por las entradas del norte y la calle 7. El Departamento de Policía de Liberal estará disponible para ayudar con el flujo de tráfico. La ceremonia se transmitirá en vivo en el canal de YouTube de LHS para aquellos que no puedan asistir, se distribuirá un enlace en las páginas web y redes sociales de USD 480 y LHS.

En caso de mal tiempo, la ceremonia se trasladará al interior del Gran Gimnasio de Liberal High School, al que se puede entrar a través de la Puerta 15 del campus principal.

Debido a que los asientos en el gimnasio son limitados, a cada graduado se le entregará una cantidad limitada de boletos después de la práctica de graduación el viernes, que deberán usarse en la entrada del gimnasio grande. Sólo se permitirá la entrada al gimnasio a los clientes con un boleto.

Se tomará una decisión con respecto a cualquier cambio de ubicación o de horario antes de las 7:00 a.m. del sábado y se comunicará a los padres y a la comunidad a través del sistema de mensajes de la escuela, así como a través de los medios de comunicación locales y sociales.

Si hay un retraso, la graduación comenzará a más tardar a las 3:00 p.m. Se harán todos los esfuerzos dentro de nuestro control para llevar a cabo la ceremonia afuera en Redskin Field.
