My name is Bret Irby. Entering my eigth year as instructor at Liberal High School, I have taught English I, II, III, IV, Honors English IV, and AP LanguageandComposition. Currently, I teach three English III class and three Honors English III classes. I also find great joy in coaching boys and girls tennis. Another joy in my life is my family.
Married to the same beautiful person, Elizabeth Irby, for 21 years, I answered the calling to be a teacher just 8 years ago. I was in sales before teaching which allowed my wife to raise our children( Mitchell 17, and Rebecca 14) at home instead of having to work. I feel very blessed that my family supports one another 100 percent. They had to be supportive when I decided to go back to college at the age of 40 to complete an education degree at Oklahoma Panhandle State University. I graduated from OPSU with a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in English and Education. Other schools I attended include Seward County Community College, Fort Hays State University, and Kansas State University. One thrill for me is teaching at Liberal High School; I graduated from LHS in 1981. I get to relive "the good old days" every day.
