B.S. Education: Chemistry
This is my first year at Liberal High School, and my third year teaching. I am currently teaching General Chemistry as well as Honors Environmental Science. I also coach hurdles for with the track team.
I began teaching in April of 2015, a month before I graduated college. I taught chemistry, integrated chemistry/ physics, and coached girl’s track for two years at Fishers High School in Indiana.
I have also worked for a kid’s science summer camp where I lead a course on building robots and the basics of biology.
For three years I worked in undergraduate research in a microbiology lab at Indiana Unveristy where we analyzed the genome for several species of galapagos tomatos.
I married Ian Applegate in September of 2015 in Indiana. He is the sports information director for Seward County Community College.
We have a three year old cat named Winston.
When I am not teaching, I am an avid reader and hiker. I love spending time with my family and exploring all things outdoors.
